"Shrek” – Big, Solid Mountain Gelding
Shrek is a big, dark bay gelding named by the kids for his sheer size. He has good conformation, strong bone, and a mellow, level-headed disposition. This is a seasoned mountain horse that has been ridden extensively in very rugged backcountry and consistently proves to be sure-footed, carefully choosing his foot placement in rough, uneven terrain.
He is gun-broke, stands quietly to be saddled, and confidently leads a pack string. Shrek has the kind of mind you want in the mountains—calm, thoughtful, and dependable. He is well-suited for trail riding, packing, hunting, or ranch use where reliability matters.
Things to know:

Shrek can get a little buddy-sour when he hasn’t been ridden consistently, and he can be somewhat impatient during shoeing, mainly on his hind feet. These are manageable with regular work and a confident rider.
Overall, Shrek is a big, solid, experienced mountain gelding that takes care of his rider and excels in rough country.
