Chicken is a stout, dependable mare with years of real-world experience and the kind of disposition everyone appreciates. We purchased her six years ago from the neighbor who raised her and used her extensively on his ranch and in the feedlot. Since then, she has been my wife’s main mount and has proven herself time and again.

Standing right at 14 hands, Chicken is compact but powerful and will carry a rider all day with ease. She is super loving, personable, and has a fun, playful personality. She has been used primarily for trail riding and ranch work, where she excels working cattle and is solid to rope off of.

Chicken is outstanding in steep, rocky country and is extremely sure-footed, confidently navigating up and down mountains. She has also been hauled to jackpot team ropings and performs calmly and consistently in the arena. She stays collected, handles pressure well, and knows her job.

Our daughters have used Chicken successfully in breakaway roping, barrel racing, and pole bending, making her a true family horse. She is easy to shoe, enjoys being bathed and pampered, and is a pleasure to have around the barn.
