Hondo is a striking grey gelding with size, bone, and chrome, standing 15 hands and weighing 1,100 pounds or better. He has substantial foot and bone and is built to handle a full day’s work. Hondo has been used extensively on the ranch and has done all the basic chores including branding large numbers of calves, doctoring, checking fence, gathering, and sorting bulls in the fall.

He has been started in the arena team roping on both the head and heel side and shows all the makings of a quality switch-end rope horse. Hondo is a confident, level-headed gelding that will happily take the lead on a trail ride or ride quietly in the back. He has a solid one-handed neck rein, is soft in the face, and is simple and enjoyable to ride.

Hondo prefers to travel out and cover country, making him a great choice for long days in the saddle. He crosses tarps, bogs, bridges, and creeks with ease and knows how to use himself in rocky, steep country. He has seen extensive outside miles in the high country of Idaho and Oregon and handles rough terrain confidently.

This gelding is in the prime of his life and is safe for most any level of rider. He is polite to bathe, shoe, clip, hobble, and stand tied quietly. Hondo loads easily into any type of trailer and is easy to catch.
